If your Sassa grant is approved but you receive no SMS or pay time from a Sassa official, then there might be some factors leading to this, some of them are:

The verification of bank account details can be delayed  because some banks take time to thoroughly check and authenticate the accuracy of the bank details provided by individuals applying for assistance from SASSA

Submitting incorrect bank account details can lead to delays in payment or result in approval without specified pay dates.

If you keep switching your payment method too often, it can also contribute to delays. If someone regularly changes their payment method, it can create complications in the processing system. To avoid such issues, it is recommended to only switch payment options when necessary and maintain consistency for payments.

Sometimes, the issue might arise from errors in the SASSA system itself. In such cases, if you’re facing problems, it’s a good idea to reach out to SASSA for assistance. You can contact them at the toll-free number 0800601011 and let them know about your situation.

If the money in your bank account is more than the minimum required amount, which is 624 Rands, your application for the R350 fund might be canceled. This fund is specifically available for people with no income. The only purpose of the grant is to help them with essential needs like food and electricity. During the verification process, SASSA checks your bank balance, and if it exceeds the specified threshold, your approved application may not result in receiving the funds.

If the details you provide in your application for the R350 fund are incorrect, it can create complications in the processing. SASSA follows a systematic procedure where your ID number, income, bank balance, account number, mobile number, address, and living conditions are thoroughly examined using the government’s database. If there are mistakes in your details, it can make it hard for Sassa officials to move your application to the next step.

If your bank balance is below R624 and your details are correct, delays in payment aren’t your fault. With over 7 million applicants for the SRD program alone, the organization takes time to verify applications, causing potential delays or cancellations due to the high volume.

SASSA is having trouble with their bank partners, especially for people using e-wallets or those who recently switched from the post office to e-wallets for SASSA payments. Many of these beneficiaries are facing issues.
