Why SASSA Rejects Your Application For Special COVID-19 Grant?
SASSA has experienced many rejected applications, especially for the COVID-19 grant. According to the agency’s database, they reject 50% of applications because of qualifications criteria. The agency rejected around 4 million applications. 80% of the applications were qualified after appealing for reconsideration. The agency has decided to review declined applications for COVID-19 grants to find the bottom-line reason for rejection.

SASSA reviewed the declined applications. They got to know that more than 80% of COVID-19 grant-rejected applications actually qualify for the criteria. To solve the problem, SASSA has sent a message to all qualified people. All applicants must respond to their message to receive payments. This was a technical fault in the database of the agency.
Now, SASSA has solved this problem. The agency has also made some amendments to the qualifications criteria. CEO of SASSA said that these changes would clarify qualifying criteria. Many applications which SASSA declined previously are approved now. SASSA also started to send payments to them. Although many applications are approved some applications remain unapproved. This is because of some other reasons.
